Just a trivia . . .

Tomorrow, November 30th, is a non-working holiday cause it's Bonifacio Day so it's going to be a long weekend. Do you know that it's our 11th year anniversary as a couple tomorrow? Yes, you heard it right! 11 years of togetherness already.

Next month, on the very same date, 30th of December, we will be celebrating our 4th year anniversary as husband and wife. It is a non-working holiday as well. This time it's Rizal Day. What a coincidence! Same date and both are holidays in commemoration of our two national heroes.

A very bad dream

I had a very, very bad dream last night. I dreamt that my dad passed away already. The first scene was in the hospital. There was a man in the hospital bed but with cover already. He was dead. I didn't see my dad physically but I just knew it was him. It was only me in the hospital. My mom and my sisters were not yet there. When my mom arrived, she was looking for my dad's body. She didn't know that my dad passed away. I was crying so hard already.

The next scene I could remember was in the house already. We were waiting for his body to arrive from the morgue. When he arrived, we were busy re-arranging the furnitures and other stuffs. My mom was just sitting in the sofa. She was still composed. The coffin was in place and relatives started to arrive. Each time a relative arrives, I would break down and cry so hard. It was only me who would cry. I was crying, crying and crying so hard.

It was at this point that I was awaken by my dream. . .

A very, very, bad dream . . .

Yaya search is on again ! ! !

I know it's less than a month when I posted this last month. But the search is on again. Yaya # 1 has left last Tuesday and we are looking for her replacement. Yaya # 1 has just eloped with her BF. Thank God that the new yaya we have just hired can keep up with the new demand. Two kids with one yaya. We are very much satisfied with her performance and we are really keeping our fingers crossed that she can stay with us longer if not forever. I'm sure it will take some time this time before we can find a replacement since it's Christmas season already.

Recommendations are mostly welcome!

Christmas Update . . .

It's already less than a month before Christmas and I haven't started wrapping all the gifts that we already bought. Hopefully this coming weekend I would be able to finish wrapping all the stuffs that we have bought.

Can of PRINGLES as Coin Bank ? ? ?

Last Friday, hubby and I were in Festival Mall. We dropped by in Shopwise and saw the "buy one take one promo" of Pringles and bought some for the kids.

On Monday night, we've already consumed about 2 cans of Pringles already. I was about to throw the can that we have just finished when Kaila was trying to take it from me. I told her that it's empty already. She still keeps on pulling the can from me. Then she said, "coins, coins." So, Kaila's trying to get the can and wants to fill it up with coins. I was surprised! I asked hubby if she told Kaila anything about it. He said no. We were then wondering how she was able to come up with the idea to make the can of Pringles into a coin bank.

At least at this early Kaila knows how to save. Or at least to ask money from us and put it aside in her coin box. I'm not sure if she understands the value of saving at this point

Hopefully, as she grows up she continues to do this and later on in life the value of "thriftiness" will be instilled in her.

Our Christmas tree . . .

The Christmas season officially started for us last October 27 when we decorated our Christmas tree right after we had our first Christmas shopping. It was supposed to be a surprise for the kids but while decorating they were awakened so they joined us in decorating the tree.
Here are some pictures of our Christmas tree:

It's Chrismas time . . . 39 days to go!

Oh, well, it's just 39 days before Christmas. It's my favorite time of the year! I guess it's every body's favorite time of the year as well. All the people are busy preparing gifts for their loved ones, decorating the house, preparing the Christmas menu, preparing for the Christmas parties, buying gifts for the kris kringle, a lot of balikbayan relatives and so on and so forth. There are a lot of reasons to be merry on this time of the year. But of course we should not forget the real reason for the season. It's the birth of our saviour so let's not forget to prepare ourselves spiritually as well.

Ummm? I'll try to write some Christmas stuffs here . . . I'll start with my favorite Christmas song. Here it goes :

The Christmas Song

Chestnuts roasting on an open fire
Jack Frost nipping on your nose
Yuletide carols being sung by a choir
And folks dressed up like Eskimos
Everybody knows a turkey and some mistletoe
Will help to make the season bright
Tiny tots with their eyes all aglow
Will find it hard to sleep tonight
They know that Santa's on his way
He's loaded lots of toys and goodies on his sleigh
And every mother's child is going to spy
To see if reindeer really know how to fly
And so I'm offering this simple phrase
To kids from one to ninety-two
Although its been said many times, many ways,
Merry Christmas to you

There goes my favorite Christmas song . . .

A productive day . . .

I was on leave yesterday for a check-up in Asian Hospital. I had this "mass" in my upper left chest way back in college. Medyo namaga lang sya this past week that's why kinulit ako ni hubby na ipatingin na. When my mom saw it as well sabi rin nya ipatingin ko na rin daw. So, I took a leave the whole day while hubby reported to work. So, iintayin ko pa sya matapos with his stuffs sa office.

Early morning, I went to this school near our place to check if it's within our standard of a pre-school for Kaila. We've had our rounds about two months ago with some of the schools and none of them passed our standard. Actually, hubby wants to enroll Kaila in CSA but I told him not in her pre-school years since she'll be travelling from Cabuyao to San Pedro. I think that would be too much for a three year old kid. So basically, I want a pre-school just within our area.

So I went to this school ( St. John's Wort Montessori ) and inquired of their pre-school program. The school is just 5 to 10 minutes from our place. I was accommodated by teacher Riza. I asked all the questions and concerns I have in mind at that time. I also took a peek in their kinder and prep classes at that time. I can say that I'm quite satisfied and excited at the same time. Though we are still on debate when Kaila will start schooling. Personally, I want her to start by January so that she'll have a feel of it by June. My parents wouldn't want her to go to school yet because JM will be left out at home. But I this is my concern as well. I even asked if they would accept a 2 year old in their nursery class so that Kai and JM can go to school together. They said that it's too early for a two year old. They can consider a 2.5 year old though. Let's just see what will happen by then. At least I have already chosen a school for the kids already. I'll just bring Philip and the kids the next time I visit the place so that they can sit in in their class.

After the school, I went to LTO BiƱan to get my student permit. I was supposed to have my driving lessons in A1 last September but I couldn't sqeeze it in my schedule. It took me about two hours to have my student permit since a lot were applying for their licenses. Anyway, at least I have it right now so what I have to do next is have my schedule with A1. I just don't know when will I be able to have it. Hopefully I can schedule it and finish the 10 hours within 2007. Para naman may accomplishment ako for myself this year. :)

After LTO, I dropped by in Jollibee Olivarez to buy some lunch. Philip texted me that he still has to finish some work so he asked me to buy my lunch because he knows that I'm hungry already. Ayaw nya magutom ako at baka mag-away lang kami. Weakness yata naming dalawa ang magutom. :) Pareho kaming nag-iinit ang ulo kapag gutom na.

So I was in his office just in time for lunch time. I ate my food already because I am really hungry. Philip was still working at that time. Just before 1pm we were able to leave and head for Asian Hospital in Alabang. We were lucky that there was no traffic that time. We were there in just 15 minutes.

We went straight to the HMO coordinator since I will be using my company health card. I asked for the accredited surgeon and it's Dr. Pagdanganan. His schedule is at 3pm. So we still have more than an hour of waiting time. Philip asked me if I wanted to go to Festival Mall first but I declined. I'm so tired already for the past days due to my work load. We just waited in the waiting area of the fifth floor while watching a movie in HBO channel.

It was past 3pm and the doctor is not yet in. I went to the clinic and check with the coordinator and she said that he's on his way already. Around 3:20 pm the coordinator already called me. In the clinic was a lady doctor. I thought Ernest Padanganan was a "he". Medyo naconfuse tuloy ako. Then she explained that Dr. Pagdanganan is out for a convention so she's taking his place for awhile.

She started to ask me of my condition why I'm seeking for a consultation. I showed to her the "mass" in my upper left chest. It's like a big pimple na super namamaga na medyo red na nagviviolet yung ibang area. The last time kasi na namaga sya ng husto was in June 2003 while I was on vacation in Canada kaya memorable sya. The doctor immediately knew what it was. She calls my condition as "sebaceous cyst". Nothing serious and nothing to worry about. The sebaceous gland was blocked that's why there's a mass formation already. It will be my call if I'll have it operated or not. Syempre I asked if it will have a scar. She assured me na parang line lang naman daw. Di naman ako keloidal eh so minimal lang daw yung magiging mark.

Hubby asked yung procedure for the operation. It will just be a 30-minute out patient operation. Pero natatakot pa rin ako. Sabi ko nga kay hubby mas gusto ko pa manganak na lang ulit ako kesa magpa-opera. But since namamaga pa yung mass she prescribed an antibiotic kasi di sya pwede operahan ng ganun. Healing will take longer daw pag ganun. So I just have to go back pag wala na yung maga. Hopefully by next week ok na sya. Right now kasi magang-maga pa rin. Parang walang effect yung antibiotic. Although nung last time na namaga sya eh wala naman akong ginawa. Kusa lang na nawala. Yun nga daw yung risk or disadvantage kung di ako magpapaopera. It will be recurring.

After the consultation, we went to Festival for a snack. Hubby will treat me daw kasi masaya sya at nothing serious yung condition ko. We just ate pasta and pizza sa Sbarro. We went around sandali but hubby needs to go back to work. Medyo critical kasi since nasa transition phase sila from EPCI to BDO kaya maya't maya may tumatawag sa kanya. Sabi ko iwan na lang ako to buy some stuffs for the kids.

I went around for a while but I went home din around 6pm. Hay, at least marami akong na-accomplish that day. Thank God that I'm ok and healthy.

Our first hospital confinement experience

I am very proud to say that both my kids are very healthy. Seldom do they get sick and nothing serious that's why it never entered my mind that we would be experiencing this. As a matter of fact, my health card was not with me when I needed it.

Last October 29 at around 6pm, JM started to vomit. We thought that is was just a simple indigestion or something because he ate ice cream during merienda. He continued to vomit several times so I asked hubby to buy a medicine and electrolyte already. For a while, he was able to sleep because he was too weak due to vomiting. After about an hour, he was awake and back to his playful nature. So he's ok already. Around 10pm, we put him to sleep already with about 5 ounces of milk. I'm hoping that he won't vomit anymore. At about 1am, he was awake and vomited again. This time I'm getting nervous already. Hubby told me to give JM the electrolyte. I put it in his bottle and he was able to drink it. He was asleep again. At around 3:30am, he was awake again and vomited the electrolyte. So this is it! We need to bring him to the hospital already. He might be dehydrated because he can't take in anything.

I already started to prepare our things and I took a quick bath. My SIL and MIL was already there waiting for us. We were in the hospital just before 5am. The usual question and answer took place in the ER. While waiting for the doctor, hubby was already in the admission office. I also answered some forms since I'll be using my health card.

When it's already time to put the IV, all of us were there and holding JM. He is very strong! All the four of us we're holding him tight while the nurse is trying to locate where to pinch in the needle. But they were really having a hard time looking for the right spot. They tried it once and twice but none. JM was crying out loud that time. Mommy Nol was crying as well. It's really painful to see him like that. This time nagtaray na si MIL. Dapat daw yung resident doctor ang magturok since baby yung pasyente. Kaya we waited for the doctor to come. While waiting, another nurse came to get blood samples for the laboratory tests. JM was crying again. This time Mommy is stronger already. No more tears. :)

When the doctor arrived, she too was having a hard time to locate the right spot. She was trying on both hands but no good. That's why it ended up on JM's feet. After a while, we were already heading to our room. JM seems very tired already. He was asleep in no time at all.

I already started texting my office mates and called my mom. It's my mom's birthday the following day. My sisters and I were planning to treat my mom for a good buffet dinner somewhere in Alabang and at the same time for the kids to experience their first trick or treat. But at this time, we were unsure if this will push through.

Hubby and I were just in our room waiting for the doctor to come. JM had here first milk again during noon. After a few hours he vomited again. This time JM already have a fever. We're already praying that it is nothing serious.

At about 4pm, the doctor came and checked on JM. The usual question and answer again on his condition. Then, he informed us that the result of the blood test showed a bacteria in his white blood cells. This is an indication of acute gastroenteritis though he wants to see the other lab results. This means we still have to stay longer. We have not yet provided the urine and stool sample.

So, it's our first night and I have to stay on his bedside. I am frequently awaken every time the nurses came to check on him. I barely had a sleep. JM's fever is on and off. The last recorded fever was on the morning of the 31st. This time no more vomiting for a day already. We thought we would be discharge in the afternoon already.

In the morning, we were able to submit the urine sample. I was hoping he doesn't have a UTI just like me and Ate Kai. Another day of watching TV and a lot of naps during the day. The doctor came and checked on JM's condition. He is already better compared to yesterday's condition. We asked if we can go home already since he is not vomiting anymore. But according to the doctor JM should be fever free for 24 hours before we can be discharged. So, it means another night in the hospital.

In the afternoon, my sisters came to visit and brought some food since they had a small get together at home for my mom's birthday. It was also a time for picture taking since my brother in law brought his camera. JM was already makulit this time cause he's feeling better already. He's trying to remove the IV and he's trying to get down from the bed. It's more difficult to take care of him at this time.

Night time came, I'm already hoping that JM won't have a fever at all. A slight fever tonight means another 24 hours of waiting. Thank God that JM didn't have fever over the night and completely no vomiting. I know we will be discharged already. I have already packed up our things and just waiting for the rounds of the doctor.

Since it's November 1, the doctor came in earlier than his usual rounds so that he can discharge us early. He checked on JM and everything is clear now. He didn't find anything in the urinalysis. Buti na lang hindi mana sa amin ni Ate Kai. We're all set to go home. I miss Ate Kai so much!

I texted my mom already so that they can fetch us from the hospital. At that time, they were still in Cavite to visit my lola's grave and other relatives. Still have time to rest. They came in after lunch and we're ready to go home!

Oh, well . . . A part of the supposed to be long weekend was spent in the hospital. I hope there won't be any next time . . .

I really hate the feeling when the kids are sick . . . Kung pwede lang talaga na kunin na lang yung sakit nila :)

Christmas Shopping Update . . .

Oh, well. . . We pushed through with the original plan of going shopping even without 1 yaya. I just asked my youngest sister to come over our house to be with the kids.

It was a breeze . . . Not sure if it's still because of the Glorietta blast or the barangay election because there were a few people in everywhere we've been to. Yes, we've been to Divisoria, Greenhills and Glorietta. Galing namin no!

We were able to buy Christmas decors, stuffs for the house, gift wrappers, gifts for the kids of my officemates, gifts to my inaanaks, some gifts for the kids and other stuffs. I can say that I'm halfway through my Christmas shopping as early as now. Family members na lang yung bibilihan ko the next time na umalis ulit kami.

Yaya search is over . . .

After over a week of yaya searching, we were able to have one yesterday. Di masyado ramdam because of the holidays. She was referred to us by our neighbor. Actually, a distant relative of hers.

I find her ok. She is married but separated already that's why she wants to get busy and move on. They had a child but he/she died of leukemia.

Click naman sila agad ni Kaila. She was teaching Kaila to write. Medyo over qualified nga sya to be just a yaya kasi she was able to reached second year college. I'm just hoping tumagal sya kasi mukhang ok na rin sya to be a tutor to Kaila by the time she starts schooling in June.

I'm keeping my fingers crossed . . .
