Ian & Glynis' Wedding . . .

Last Monday, April 27, 2009, hubby and I attended the wedding of his cousin ( Ian ) and a former officemate ( Glynis ) of mine. Knowing them both was just a coincidence. The wedding was held in Bellevue in Alabang. It was a Christian wedding so the ceremony was held there too. I find the wedding great since it was really a union of two families and a reunion of families as well. As I previously posted, our digicam was defective that's why the pictures I posted are just from the camera of hubby's sister and cousins. Too bad since I could have taken a lot of pictures if I have my own camera that time.

Here are some of our pictures:

The inquisitive JM . . .

Our little boy has always been inquisitive on a lot of things. Be it with his toys, with the people around him, the events that are happening and many other things he can question. We knew about this trait of him ever since he was young. When we give him a toy he wouldn't actually play it the way it should be played. He would try to see how the toy works, he would try to loosen up the screws, he would try to disassemble it and assemble it again. That's why most of his toy cars are already in pieces because of this trait.

As he grows older, his curiosity on things seems to widen as well. He does experiments on our appliances and gadgets! Yes, on our gadgets especially the videocam and the digicam. Last Sunday, I was suppose to have a picture taking session with the kids and their cousin, Wacks, and to my surprise the digicam's lens was stuck! ! ! I tried to turn it on and off but to no avail. Oh, no! We'll be attending a wedding the next day. I tried it several times and I can still use it as long as I won't do any adjustment. So yesterday, we still brought the digicam with us hoping to take pictures during the wedding. We were able to have three shots but it didn't function already after these shots. :(

Hay, we hope JM wouldn't do more damage on our properties. ha ha ha . . . I forgot to mention that our PC is already in the computer shop as well for repair. We don't know yet the cause and the extent of the damage. The good thing is it is still under warranty so hopefully we won't pay anything for the repair.

Mommy still finds it cute not until he does anything with the car ! ! ! ha ha ha . . .

Kiddo's shots . . .

We just had a dinner in Gerry's Grill in SM Sta. Rosa on the night of my birthday since both hubby and I reported to work that day. We don't have that much pictures since the kids were playing the digicam during our dinner. Only to find out eventually that the lens was defective already. (:

It's my birthday! ! !

How time flies really fast! I'm turning a year older again today. Though I'm celebrating it differently ( since I'm in the office ), I can say that I'm so happy with all the blessings I have received for the past year. I'm so thankful that I have my family with me and they are my source of strength and happiness as I journey through life. I'm looking forward for the next years to come and I pray for good health for all my family members and our loved ones. Happy birthday to me! he he he . . . :)

Saying good bye . . .

has not always been easy especially when we mean "good bye". Last Saturday, April 11, my father in law has joined our Creator after almost 3 months of battle with the big "C". He has fought the battle with so much courage even at the last minute. He was such a good man and many of his friends attested to this statement during his wake. It was so unfortunate for us especially for the two kids that they will not able to spend more time with their lolo. They couldn't understand it for now but one thing is for sure - they miss their lolo.

Holy Week 2009 . . .

Last Maundy Thursday, our family went down south of Laguna to visit some old churches. We left our home at around 11am already so we were really late for our target time. We were in the Nagcarlan / Liliw area at past 1pm already. Unfortunately, we got a text from my brother in law that the condition of my father in law is not getting any better. Hubby decided to push through with our plan and visit at least one church before we go back to the hospital. We went to the Church in Liliw then went to the main streets wherein slippers and shoes are everywhere. We then went to Arabela for our late lunch. It was really late since our foods were served at 4pm already after 2 hours of waiting! I was not able to take pictures of our foods since we were so hungry already. We immediately went back to the hospital after we had our lunch.

A quiet and simple day . . .

It has been a while when I just spent the whole day at home without worrying anything. For the past few weeks hubby and I have not spent a single weekend at home. As I have previously blogged, my FIL is battling the big "C" that's why we spend every free day at their home in Pacita. We also try to visit our house in Canlubang since my nephew is there already. Our weekends are spent shuttling from one house to another with groceries in between and other errands. We also try to balance our time with the kids as well.

Today, I just spent the whole day at home and I had the time to have enough sleep. Late in the afternoon, the kids just played outside with their bikes and balls. After a while, they started to water the plants and in no time the kids were already having their evening bath outside the house. I allowed them to play in the water for a while and they enjoyed it so much that they don't want to stop. These are just rare moments for the kids that's why I try to be lenient once in a while.

This is a perfect day well spent except for one. Hubby is still in the office and he missed all our adventures for the day. I'm hoping for more quiet and simple days like this . . . . :)

Summer is here ! ! !

Inspite of the heavy rains last week, summer is officially here! See how the kids enjoyed playing in their inflatable pool to cool off a hot afternoon . . .

I2C update # 4 . . .

Our documents we're finally received last Monday, March 30, 2009. The tracking system of DHL indicates that it was received at exactly 3:12 PM by a certain Dave. Timing was just on time! Submission of our application forms by Q1 of 2009.

We have yet to wait the official acknowledgement receipt from CIC for the next couple of weeks or months. From there we would wait for the 6 to 12 months processing before it'll be endorsed to the Canadian embassy in Manila if and when I qualify under the FSW category. Hopefully, the lack of an Accounting degree wouldn't be taken against my qualifications since I applied under the Financial Accountant category.

I'm looking forward for the next I2C update in the next couple of months . . . I'm keeping my fingers crossed that we'll have a positive response from CIC.
